About Splinter Metalwurks

Denny Schuler was born and raised in Cincinnati Ohio, the oldest of 6 children.

 

He graduated with a bachelors of science degree in industrial design from the University of Cincinnati in the DAAP program.

Immediately after graduation he located to San Francisco where he worked as an industrial designer at various design firms.

 

While in the bay area, Denny eventually started his own company (splinter metal wurks)

which encompassed more of his design interest from products, to furniture and art.

He met his wife while living in the Haight /Ashbury district and both of his (now teenage children)

were born in San Francisco.

 

in 2001 he and his family moved up to Portland Oregon, both he and his family had a great

love for the Pacific Northwest and the growing creative scene that they saw blossoming.

 

Some of his recent projects have included renovating a 1926 cabin on Mt. Hood. contributing

to his wife’s jewelry line (Luscious jewelry design) and collaborating with other artists and designers (Andy Paiko Andypaikoglass.com and Justin Rideout Justinrideout.com)  The most recent piece was a collaboration with Andy and was purchased by the Chazen Museum in Wisconsin for permanent display.

 

Denny is currently working on an interior remodel/design project with Justin Rideout set for completion by Jan 1st 2014
